“EXHALE” After School Performing Arts Camp-Fall Registration
Program: Come EXHALE at Rooted Tree’s Performing Arts Program. Open to students in grades 2 -10. Cohorts are arranged by age. At EXHALE we utilize the arts to help students destress, find their focus, set goals, and to grow as an individual. Our program is open to students of all skill sets, beginners- advanced.
Weekly Sessions: Include four hours of performing arts instruction on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the North Penn VFW. Each Wednesday session concludes with a share out for the parents, the share out provides the students an opportunity to demonstrate the choreography they learned that week. All share outs are held outside following our COVID-19 safety protocols.
Cost: $59.00 a week
Program Description: Each week Rooted Tree instructors use a different musical as a portal to explore the power of the arts. Each lesson utilizes music and script work from the show of the week. The flow of a sample lesson is found below.
- Yoga and Guided Meditation explores the meaning and theme behind the lyrics of a particular song. Provides a physical and emotional release of the day’s stresses and sets a focal point for the day’s experience.
- Script Work that focuses on improving each student’s presence and confidence. We explore the positive message in each show and help students apply the message to their everyday lives. We encourage the students to pull from what they’ve learned to help them navigate stressful situations.
- Choreography that challenges the student to master new routines and to perform with emotion. Through dance, we explore every emotion.
- Improv games and lessons that allow students to let loose while teaching them to think on their feet. These games teach kids how to pivot.
- Moment of Gratitude closes the day by moving through our yoga poses again and sharing out the things that we are most grateful for.
